Since starting as technology editor for Precision Farming Dealer, I’ve chatted with dozens of precision specialists, visiting many of them in their native environment, and tried to share what I’ve seen and heard with our readers.
One of the first precision specialists I had the chance to meet was Darin Kennelly with Birkey's Farm Stores, a Case IH dealership group in Illinois.
We’ve worked together on several occasions since that initial meeting, and I was thrilled to be able to spend an entire workday with him for this piece.

Spring Madness: Precision Specialist Prepares Customers for Planting Season
Go behind the scenes with Chad Baker, co-owner of Baker Precision Planter Works in Orangeville, Ill., as he hits the road for on-farm visits and pre-season maintenance checkups. Baker helps a first-generation no-tiller prepare for planting season, and later runs into a couple big challenges with a customer’s new, high-speed, 24-row planter.
