Hybrid Mode, NORAC’s newly patented in-crop spraying feature eliminates the need for the operator to take manual control of the boom while spraying in adverse situations such as lodged, thin and uneven crops. 

“The development of Hybrid Mode for our automatic spray height control systems has resulted in a higher level of operator convenience than was previously available in the market,” said Danea Armstrong, Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Service for NORAC Systems International Inc.

Hybrid Mode tracks both the crop canopy and the soil surface simultaneously to calculate a “virtual top of crop” for more accurate control. This reduces boom height error and increases boom stability, therefore increasing the amount of time the boom is at the target spray height. NORAC’s Hybrid Mode is available on NORAC’s UC5 and UC4.5 Spray Height Control systems.

NORAC’s Hybrid Mode received an AE50 award by The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) and was recognized as one of this year’s most innovative designs for the food and agriculture industries. NORAC continues to develop patents and new technologies for NORAC spray height control systems in order to maintain their number one position in the market.
