Clint Cowden, ag science and technology instructor for West Hills Community College in Coalinga, Calif., talks about how the skill sets of incoming students have changed in the years he has been teaching.
According to Cowden, the amount of students that are really strong in mechanical skills has gone down, which means the school has put more focus on that.
Understanding a mix of both the mechanical and the electrical components of the equipment is an important part of the education process at West Hills Community College, as well as other community colleges across the country.
