"The Bane family donated funds in 2013 to build a barn/shop to be used for the Agricultural program at the Lafayette Ivy Tech campus. The Bane Agriculture Technology Center building, which was dedicated and named in Bane's honor, now serves as the site for many ag courses including the precision ag course. Bane-Welker Equipment Precision Farming Specialists assist in training the instructor for the Ivy Tech Precision Ag course. In fact, the instructor spent the summer of 2014 shadowing and learning from three of Bane-Welker's AFS specialists. In addition to monetary donations, Bane-Welker has also donated materials to the program.
"Bane-Welker's Precision Farming Specialist from the Terre Haute location, Justin McKain, is also involved with the Ag program at the Terre Haute campus. Justin currently teaches the Precision Farming Technology course, serves on the Advisory Board, and served on the development committee for the new Precision Agriculture Equipment Technology Program."
