SDSU Student Develops Ag Robot for Harvesting & Spraying

Here’s a fun feature from South Dakota State on James Kemeshi, a doctoral student who designed an ag robot that can be used in harvesting, spraying and phenotyping. Kemeshi, who’s testing the robot at the Raven Precision Agriculture Center, built a prototype for under $2,500 in production costs, significantly less than average base price of a commercial ag robot.


Record-Setting Company Looking to Stand Out in Ag Drone Market

Logan Jones, chief business officer of Santa Clara, Calif.-based drone company SiFly, talks all things drones with Ag Funder News’ Elaine Watson. Jones explains why his company’s drones “fly faster, further and for longer” than anything else on the market. “We’ve stayed in stealth mode for so long because we’re very aware that the perception of this industry is that it’s commoditized. We wanted to demonstrate that we’re different, and one example of this is the Uncrewed Triple Challenge in Michigan, where we ended up setting a world record,” he says.
