Scottsdale, Ariz. – SkimTurf™ Management, a leader in satellite-based golf course agronomy solutions, has started a collaboration with Stotz Equipment to bring advanced precision turf management capabilities to golf course operators across the Southwestern United States. Through this collaboration, Stotz Equipment will help distribute the SkimTurf™ platform, enabling superintendents to transform agronomic insights into targeted field applications using GPS-enabled equipment.
Golf course superintendents continue to face increasing pressure to maintain premium playing conditions while managing water availability, rising input costs, labor efficiency, and sustainability objectives. These challenges are particularly significant in arid regions such as Arizona and the broader Southwest, where precision resource management has become essential.
SkimTurf™ Management addresses these challenges through a comprehensive, satellite-powered turf intelligence platform that combines:
- Whole-course monitoring of soil moisture, nutrient content, vegetation health, and turf stress
- AI-powered diagnostics, alerts, reporting, and course diaries accessible via web and mobile applications
- Precision prescription mapping integrated with John Deere Operations Center™ to perform GPS-enabled targeted spraying and variable-rate applications for fertilizers, wetting agents, plant growth regulators (PGRs), biostimulants etc.
Together, these capabilities enable superintendents to move from generalized applications toward precise, data-driven turf management tailored to the specific conditions of individual areas across the golf course.
A key component of the collaboration is the SkimTurf™ “Prescriptions” module, which allows users to define application zones based on agronomic measurement thresholds. Prescription maps can then be seamlessly transferred into John Deere Operations Center™ and executed directly through GPS sprayers. This precision-based workflow helps golf facilities reduce unnecessary product applications, optimize water and fertilizer usage, improve labor allocation, and deliver more consistent playing conditions. It also supports environmental stewardship by limiting nutrient loss and reducing the risk of off-target chemical movement.
“Our mission at SkimTurf™ Management is to provide superintendents with actionable, data-driven insights that simplify decision-making and improve operational precision,” said Frederic Paczkowski, General Manager at SkimTurf™ Management. “Through our collaboration with Stotz Equipment and the integration with John Deere Operations Center™, golf facilities across the Southwest can seamlessly transform satellite-based agronomic intelligence into targeted applications in the field. Together, we are helping courses optimize resources, improve playing conditions, and advance sustainability through smarter turf management.”
“At Stotz Equipment, we are always looking for technologies that genuinely simplify our customers’ operations and improve their bottom line. This solution aligns perfectly with our customer-first culture. It integrates with John Deere equipment. It checked all the boxes, which is why we chose to partner with SkimTurf™ to bring even more value to our precision turf lineup,” explains Ezequiel Felix, Precision Golf Manager at Stotz Equipment.
The value of precision turf management is already being demonstrated at leading golf facilities. At Desert Mountain Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, agronomy teams are leveraging SkimTurf™ remote sensing technology and precision prescriptions to monitor turf performance, evaluate Bermuda grass varieties, manage sodium accumulation, and improve application accuracy across a facility spanning more than 8,300 acres.
The SkimTurf™ platform requires no on-course hardware installation and is designed for rapid deployment and immediate operational value.
