Farm Equipment magazine held a webinar featuring Greg Peterson, known in the industry as "Machinery Pete," and Rick Vacha, regional sales manager with Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers’ ag division, to discuss the current used farm equipment market, how dealers can market their used inventory and use auctions to their advantage.
Since 1989, Greg Peterson has compiled more than 500,000 auction prices on used farm and construction equipment sold throughout North America. Peterson has built a network of 1,000 regional auctioneers, 600 ag lenders, 2,000 implement dealers and thousands of farmers throughout the U.S. and Canada. Peterson contributes to Farm-Equipment.com regularly in his "Used Equipment: Market Values & Trends" column.
Rick Vacha is a regional sales manager for Ritchie Bros. ag division and is based in Missouri. He’s been with the company for 7 years. Rick has both farming and dealer experience, having grown up on a farm in Nebraska as well as working as a store manager for a John Deere dealership prior to joining Ritchie Bros. He still operates a small farm in Missouri today.
