Emily C. Dooley was a reporter for more than two decades before joining the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences as a communications specialist in August 2021. Emily writes stories that come out of the Departments of Agricultural and Resource Economics, Animal Science, Biological and Agricultural Engineering, Environmental Toxicology, Plant Pathology, Plant Sciences, and Viticulture and Enology, among others. She also writes web and social media content, marketing materials for student recruitment and engagement, scripts and development and campaign plans. She has previously worked for media outlets in Colorado, Massachusetts, New York, and Virginia before coming to California in 2018. The last decade was spent covering environmental issues for Newsday and Bloomberg Law. She has an uneasy relationship with tumbleweed. Emily is a Red Sox fan and lives in Sacramento with her husband, Jerry, and rescue dog, Ozzy Wasabi.
