Question:

How are precision farming specialists at your dealership using mobile apps as business tools and what features/new apps would be useful for sales and service of technology in the future?

Answer:

“Our dealership utilizes apps and smart devices in a number of ways. Our sales force utilizes the PowerPoint app to do presentations to customers on their farms. These tools allow all of our presentations to be accessed on the farm and they can choose what to show the farmer based his interests. Ag Leader also has some interactive PowerPoint simulator to simulate the screens and ROI calculators can be accessed and run with the customer right from their devices.

“Our sales team is also using the Precision Planting’s FieldView app to show potential customers the types of data displayed and recorded. Salespeople can also  do a field demo so customers see exactly what they would see in a real field scenario.

“The app also allows for remote view of our customers’ displays through an iPad or a tablet. This has the potential to be an extremely beneficial tool. It will allow us to have a remote view from almost anywhere without having to get a laptop out and wait for it to boot up to access the Internet.

“We also use our in-house Agri Vault software that can be accessed on a tablet or iPad. Our team can create, manage and view proposals, service requests and work orders all from their device.

“Finally, Dropbox is huge for us. Employees can access all our documents right from their device. This is extremely handy for company policies, documents, installation instructions, troubleshooting guides and even wiring diagrams.”

“The new Case IH mobile dealer connect app is a new release in March for precision dealers to access our ASIST support, and other precision product, sales and service information. I find it valuable for quick and easy to use for support for in-field service accessible on my iPad.”
