USDA's crop progress report for the week ended Oct. 3 reported 88% of corn crops mature, above the 85% reported mature in the same week last year.
USDA reported 29% of corn crops harvested, above the 24% reported harvested by this time in 2020. The 5-year average for corn harvested in this week is 22%.
Around 45% of corn crops were reported in "good" condition, with another 14% in "excellent" condition and 26% in "fair condition."
Some 86% of soybean crops were reportedly dropping leaves, above the 83% reported dropping leaves in the same week last year. The 5-year average for soybeans dropping leaves in this week was 80%.
USDA reported 34% of soybeans harvested in the week, below the 35% reported in the same week last year. The 5-year average for soybeans harvested is 26%.
Some 46% of soybean crops were reported in "good" condition, with another 12% in "excellent" condition and 28% in "fair condition."
