Farms.com is pleased to announce the organization of the first Precision Agriculture Conference in Ontario. “Last year, I would have said that most people thought the reality of benefits from Precision Agriculture were several years away,” says Farms.com Executive Vice President Joe Dales. “But, in 2013 many of the technologies started to come together in a very meaningful way. Precision Agriculture is a reality for 2014.”
The Precision Agriculture Conference will be held February 26 and 27th, 2014, at the Best Western Lamplighter Inn and Conference Centre, in London, Ontario. The Conference, will also include a small tradeshow and networking event designed for agri-businesses, farm retailers and farmers interested in how precision agriculture will increase the productivity of crop farming in the very near future. Cash crop producers looking for more information or who would like to register for the Precision Agriculture Conference can visit www.Farms.com/PrecisionAgriculture or email email@example.com. The registration fee is $125/person.
The ultimate goal of Precision Agriculture is to define a Decision Support System for farmers to more effectively and easily manage their farm, by optimizing returns on inputs while at the same time preserving resources. While cash crop producers have always worked towards this goal, the introduction of Global Positioning Systems and other technologies have become a technological milestone that has truly enabled farmers to precisely locate positions within a field that are best suited to specific variables, to adjust inputs accordingly, and to measure precise yields effectively.
The Precision Agriculture Conference will take place following the Innovative Farmers Association of Ontario (IFAO) Conference. Precision Agriculture Conference will include the workshop “Precision Ag: What is the Potential for Precision Agriculture? $/acre”. Other workshop highlights include “Field Scripts 2013 Experience” and “John Deere AMS”, the conference will wrap up with a Farmer Panel Discussion on the benefits of Precision Agriculture in 2014 and beyond.
Farmers interested in Precision Agriculture are encouraged to take advantage of the Early Bird registration of $99/person – available until January 10, 2014. Cash crop producers looking for more information or who would like to register for the Precision Agriculture Conference can visit www.Farms.com/PrecisionAgriculture or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
