With the official start of the Fall season in North America, the countdown to a major global event — showcasing innovations in agricultural machinery taking place next month — begins. Agritechnica is set for November 9-15 in Hanover, Germany. Here are a few fascinating facts and event highlights I’ve found most engaging from a comprehensive event overview recently shared by Timo Zipf, Project Manager of Agritechnica, DLG (German Agricultural Society), Frankfurt am Main, Germany, the entity which organizes the trade fair, on what is considered the world’s leading trade fair for agricultural machinery. With more than 2,700 exhibitors from 50 countries, and 37 international pavilions representing 23 countries and regions, the exhibition grounds are fully booked, a testament to Agritechnica’s global leadership in innovation.

7 Days, 7 Themes
For the first time, planners are dedicating an entire theme day to digitalization as part of the new 7 Days – 7 Themes concept. Zipf says these themes were designed to address the specific interests of different professional groups across the seven days of the show. These are tailored to specific professional visitor groups, from farmers and agricultural machinery dealers to experts in research and development. Each day of the trade fair offers topics, formats, and networking opportunities precisely aligned with the interests of the target audience, as noted here.
- Innovation and Press Day (Nov. 9)
- Agribusiness Days (November 10-11) — dedicated to dealers, contractors, large-scale farms
- International Farmers Day (Nov. 12) — focus on global exchange, with Canada, the Czech Republic and France as partner countries.
- Digital Farm Day (Nov. 13)
- Young Professionals Day (Nov. 14) and the ensuing Young Farmers Party.

Global Experts Share Engaging Insights
Agritechnica’s international technical program will feature 400 speakers across five DLG Expert Stages, as well as 3 DLG Spotlights, and a series of pop-up talks which coordinators explain will offer insights, debates, and networking opportunities.
At the features known as “DLG-Spotlights,” Zipf says visitors can gain insights into key future topics in agricultural machinery. The “Digital Farming” Spotlight (Hall 21) showcases digital solutions for agriculture, while the “Soil Health” Spotlight (Hall 24) focuses on soil health and quality. The “Workshop Live” Spotlight (Hall 2) offers hands-on live demonstrations of maintenance and repair of agricultural machinery.
Additionally, the technical program also includes five DLG-Expert Stages. At the “Smart Efficiency” Expert Stage (Hall 24), experts discuss topics such as efficiency and resource conservation. The Studio Stage (Hall 24) offers insights into current trends and expert interviews. In Hall 21, the “Digital Farming” Expert Stage is dedicated to digitalization, while the “Systems & Components” Expert Stage (Hall 17) addresses the supplier industry and the off-highway sector. The “agrifood start-ups” Expert Stage (Hall 21) provides a presentation platform for startup companies. New this year are the Pop-Up Talks on the topics of forestry, dealer, and international insights, which will take place throughout the trade fair. These short expert presentations will address current issues in each field.
The agrifood start-up area acts as an incubator and innovation driver for the agricultural machinery sector.
As both a reflection of current trends and a driver of future developments, the world’s leading trade fair showcases the full spectrum of agricultural machinery — from smart tractors and digital farm management systems to resource-efficient solutions in soil cultivation and crop protection. At the same time, he notes, the exhibition opens up new perspectives into emerging technologies.
“Agritechnica promotes connected thinking and delivers key impulses for a sustainable and productive agriculture,” adds Zipf. For international agricultural machinery dealers, Agritechnica extends its offering and adds a matchmaking platform, says Zipf. His event overview focused on new formats for international ag machinery trade, noting the exclusive services and networking opportunities. Notably, the International Dealer Center in Hall 2 also serves as a central meeting place for national and international trade professionals. Complementing this, the new Business Matchmaking service facilitates targeted connections between dealers and exhibitors, supporting the development of valuable business relationships.
