Kentucky Farmer Plants Entire Crop Autonomously
Young farmer Quint Pottinger made history when he became the first Kentucky farmer to plant an entire crop with a driverless tractor this year. “Last year, I was running a 16-row planter and averaging 60-70 acres a day,” Pottinger said. “So far, with an eight-row planter – half the width – we’re hitting close to 100 acres a day, and I’m not in it (driver’s seat)! I just hit the ‘go’ button the other day and watched it plant while I was in a meeting. It’s unbelievable. The dang thing runs 20 hours a day. We had cut costs everywhere we could. The only thing left was equipment.”
Chad Lee (@KentuckyCrops) shared this video of Pottinger’s autonomous tractor in action.

Nebraska Farmers Show How Precision Tech Transforms Their Operation
In this farmer feature from 21st Century Equipment, Tom and Matt Terryberry discuss how various precision technologies, including John Deere See & Spray, AutoPath, ExactShot and more are making life easier on their southwest Nebraska farm.
Most Valuable Precision Dealer Shares Drone Insights
HTS Ag president Adam Gittins shares some of his best practices when it comes to drone training in this Commercial UAV News feature. "It's kind of a critical moment for the industry,” Gittins says. “We've got to get this right, or we could lose the trust — or worse, we could have regulatory burdens far beyond what we're currently dealing with. We don’t just train pilots; we train applicators. We’ve got to have real-world agronomy and application skills to go with it, not just how do you fly the aircraft.”
Top 10 Leaders in Smart Harvest — ‘the Future of Intelligent Agriculture'
From autonomous combines to AI-powered fruit-picking robots, harvesting is no longer just about machines and muscle — it's about precision, data, and intelligence. Smart Harvest integrates robotics, machine learning, IoT sensors, and computer vision to optimize every stage of crop collection, reducing labor dependency and post-harvest loss while driving yield efficiency at scale. Check out this list shared on the Agriculture LinkedIn page.
Greenfield Robotics Founder Shares Update on Ag Robots' Impact
Greenfield Robotics co-founder and head of innovation Clint Brauer checks in with an update on the company’s progress in the field and what their next chapter entails. The third-generation farmer and tech entrepreneur made it his mission to find a safer, chemical-free solution for weed control through autonomous robots after his father developed Parkinson’s after years of using toxic chemicals on his farm. Greenfield’s autonomous robots, which are also capable of nutrient microspraying, combine expertise in machine vision, AI, robotics, software and modern farming to achieve Brauer’s mission.
