CNH Industrial N.V. has entered into an exclusive, multi-year licensing agreement for electrification technologies with Monarch Tractor, a U.S.-based AgTech company specializing in fully electric autonomous tractors.

Kirovets K-7M agricultural tractors, manufactured by Peterburgsky Traktorny Zavod, will be equipped as standard with the AI-based Cognitive Agro Pilot autonomous driving system starting in February of 2022, following a testing phase scheduled to complete in October of 2021. The companies expect production of fully self-driving tractors to start by 2024.

Corteva Agriscience is using a Spot robot from Boston Dynamics to ‘walk’ between rows of corn, sunflowers and more. The robot automates sensing and inspection, and it has potential applications in field testing of both new seed and crop protection solutions with its ability to collect copious amounts of data, support the application of new crop protection discovery molecules and inspect operations.
